Irene L. Douglas, 88, of Galeton, passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 13, 2013, at the Broad Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro.

Born Feb. 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Kittie Shelley.
On June 27, 1948, she married Robert Douglas, Jr., who predeceased her in 2000.
Irene was a Gold Star Mother of the Galeton V.F.W. and a member of the Galeton Women of the Moose. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going to yard sales.
Surviving are a son, Terry A. (Carol) Douglas, Portage, Pa.; a daughter, Judy M. (Robert) Trowbridge, Watrous, Pa.; three grandchildren, Lynette (Kris) Burrous, Watrous; Michelle (Jim) Drury, Kaufman, Tex.; Patti (Ty) Good, Kaufman, Tex.; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Linda Cox, Kaufman, Tex.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by two sons, Duane S. and Clark R., and a greatgrandson, Brantley Yates.
Friends called at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Galeton, on Saturday, Mar. 16, from 12 to 1 p.m. with funeral services following at 1 p.m. The Rev. John Knudson officiated.
Burial was in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.
