John B. "Jack" Chase, 76, of Covington, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at his home.
Jack was born Sept. 29, 1937, in Elmira, N.Y., a son of William and Nellie (Ward) Chase. He celebrated 57 years of marriage to Gayle (Rumsey) Chase on April 14, 2013.
Jack was a self-employed carpenter, enjoyed hunting, hiking, traveling, yard sales, auctions and outdoor activities.
Jack is survived by his wife, Gayle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Erick Chase of Covington, Tim and Kathleen Chase of Mansfield, Clinton and Carole Chase of Covington; a daughter, Jacqueline Williams of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren, Tara, Tamara, Tonya, Trenton, Cassie, David; four great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Joe Barnes of Breeman, Georgia.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 4 p.m., at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., at the funeral chapel with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Flats Baptist Church, 2291 Cherry Flats Rd., Mansfield, Pa. 16933.
