Knute G. Bidne, Sr., 70, of Walkersville, Md. died Saturday morning, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1942, in Flandreau, S.D., he was the son of the late Leonard and Lorraine (Carsky) Bidne. He was the husband of Sharren C. (Carson) Bidne of Walkersville, Md. to whom he was married to for 26 years.
Mr. Bidne was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. He graduated from Michigan Tech as a metallurgical engineer and later received his J.D. from Cooley Law School. He was an engineer, executive, attorney and entrepreneur.
In addition to his wife, Knute is survived by his two children, Knute G. Bidne, Jr. and his wife Julie, of Leesburg, Va., Brenda Stoltz and her husband Ken, of Leesburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Alexa Bidne, Knute G. Bidne, III, Anastasia Stoltz, Katarina Stoltz; two step-sons, Timothy Keck and his wife Adrienne, Jon Keck; and three siblings, Christine Juzysta, Suzanna Drake, Bruce Bidne, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at the St. James Episcopal Church, Leesburg, Va. The Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, took care of arrangements.
