Lawrence Plank, 101, of Liberty Township, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Broad Acres in Wellsboro.

Lawrence Charles was born on Oct. 26, 1911, in Morris Township, a son of Robert and Selva (Butters) Plank.
He was the last survivor of Liberty High School's graduating class of 1929. Lawrence and the former Lois E. Moyer were married in the Liberty Lutheran Church on Nov. 29, 1933. They shared over 65 years together and were blessed with eight children before her passing on March 2, 1999.
In addition to being a dairy farmer for over 70 years, Mr. Plank operated heavy equipment and draglines in several construction venues. He later was employed by Liberty schools as head custodian for many years. Lawrence was a member of the Sebring and Pomona Granges and St. Paul's Methodist Church in Nauvoo.
Surviving are his seven children, Joanne (Fred) Heyler of Morris, Norma (Robert) Pritchard of Walkerton, Va., Arlan (Gerry) Plank, Larry Plank, Marlin (Diane) Plank, John (Sue) Plank all of Liberty, Donald (Pauline) Plank of Tioga; 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Lois and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Merlin and five siblings, Leo, Arnold, Russell, Verna and Erma.
Calling hours are 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Nauvoo's St. Paul's Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Harmic will officiate the funeral services at 2:30. Burial will be private. His family will provide flowers and suggest memorials to St. Paul's Church, c/o Sue Heyler, 317 Linck Hill Rd. Morris, Pa. 16938.
