Louise Riebe Tormey, 89, of New Whiteland, passed away Nov. 26, 2018.
Louise was born in Harrisburg, July 18, 1929 to George W. Riebe and Minnie (Drew) Riebe.
Louise graduated from Charleston High School, Wellsboro, in 1947.
Louise graduated from the Temple University Pharmacy program, becoming one of the very few women at that time to finish such a program.
Louise later moved to Indiana, where she raised her children and worked as a retail pharmacist and later becoming one of the first females to hold a pharmacist manager position.
Louise dedicated her life to her family. She took off a week for the births of her grandchildren. She always personalized everyone's birthdays, your favorite cake or food.
Louise enjoyed motor sports, football and rugby. She loved attending races with her son. Louise liked to knit, needle point, gardening, making homemade ribbons for Christmas. Louise had a meticulous attention to detail and no one will forget the family cookbook and mom's "momaroni." She will be greatly missed.
Louise is survived by her children, Cindy L. (Rich) Hayes, Tim J. Tormey and Tobin H. Tormey; brother, George Riebe; grandchildren, Justin Strange, Holly Munoz, Kaylan Grossbier, Jill Thomas, Karen Young and Laura Hayes; nine great-grandchildren.
Louise is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cheryl B. Tormey.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Ind., with visitation from 4 p.m. until the start of service.
