Marie Cummings, 87, of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Broad Acres.

She was the wife of Jerald L. Cummings who preceded her in death, January 13, 1994. Marie was born May 18, 1925, in Woodstock, Ill., the daughter of the late Ralph and Bernice (Frank) Cleveland.
She lived in Lambs Creek, Mansfield, Corning, N.Y., Horseheads, N.Y. and Interlachen, Fla., before moving to Wellsboro. Marie was a former employee of Sours Variety Store, Mansfield; Ward Foundry, Eclipse, Corning Glass and Crants Motor Express. She was a member and past vice president of the Wellsboro Fire Department Auxiliary. Marie loved birds, crocheting, flowers, gardening, playing cards, scrapbooking, bowling, family genealogy and family reunions.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Dale Howey of Wellsboro. She always considered the following as special daughters, Linda Giannotti, Iva Sherman, Mary Norris, Joyce Wilson; special grandchildren, who called her Grammy, Lorraine Tooker, Sue Anne Carson, Alex Frantz; her uncle, Omer Sumner of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Peg Cleveland of Mansfield; special nieces and nephews, Gary Sumner, Brenda and J.R. Meaker, Paula, Chris and Keegan Clemens and many other cousins. Marie was preceded in death by three daughters, Linda Lee Cummings and infant twin daughters, Lorena Kay and Eileen May; and granddaughter, Anna Marie Howey.
Friends and family are invited to Marie's Life Celebration on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral will be Friday Jan. 18, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Peter A. DeVantier officiating. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery.
