I´m just seeing this and wish to send my condolences to all your family. I attended Mansfield for music from 1971-1975. Dr Talbot was an amazing musician whom I held in the highest respect. I was proud to be part of his marching band and in his percussion classes. May you find comfort in all the wonderful musicians whose lives he touched. May God bless you and grant you peace.

Mr. Talbot will always be in my memories of Mansfield. Such a warm and encouraging teacher. The days spent marching in the Mountie Band were long, hard and rewarding. Thank you for bringing us to the highest caliber of musicians. Your legacy will live on in all the thousands of student lives you touched.

I am very sorry for your loss but am sure he is playing music with the angels in heaven now. Mr. Talbot (as I knew him) was my very first band director. He really inspired me to stay with music. Now it seems like such a short time spent from a long time ago. I remember him from Conrad, Ia (BCL Class of '70). I only had him for one year before he moved to PA but ooohhh how he got me hooked in percussion! I played in bands for several years after high school and college and have to give him the credit for turning me on to music. I now live in Missouri and am still involved with music. God Bless Him! And God Bless his family.

Condolences to the family. Professor Talbot was one of a kind. He certainly brought claim and fame to MU with his Marching Band. They still give me goose bumps to this day. But more than that, Dick was one great person. I will remember him fondly forever.

To the family: I am so sad to hear of Dick's passing. I can't ever remember when he wasn't smiling or laughing at who knows what. Rule Britannia, what an entrance to a performance. Thanks for your friendship, Dick. Charlie Jacobson

I will never forget marching back to the music building and Mr. Talbot, in his black leather coat saying "you cats were great" Great times at the Harrogate Music Festival in 1978. Shea Stadium for the Jets and Philly for the Eagles. Even played for the opening of the Route 15 express way. He had such an impact on my career as a music teacher and administrator. Prayers to all

Sincere condolences to Doris and family. Mr. Talbot was the best. When I auditioned for MU, I remember that we talked for almost an hour before I even played a note. Then and there, I knew that he was who I wanted to study with. Such a great personality. I learned so much from him. Rest in peace Mr. Talbot, you are greatly missed.

Doris and family,
Joan and I extend our sympathy. He was a valued colleague, friend, and good person. Watching the Mountie Marching Band under his direction was among the highlights of our time at MU
