Rose M. Stephens, 77, of Wellsboro, passed away at Broad Acres Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

She was born July 17, 1935, in Charleston Township, Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Gordon and Emma Doane Bowen.
Rose was an inventory control clerk at Sears, retiring in 1992. She was active in the Grange, the Community Recycling Program; in addition she was Inspector, then Judge of Elections and was a member of the Charleston Creek Watershed Association.
Surviving are her son, James Stephens (Carol) of Morris; daughter, Roberta Scott (John) of Washington; two sisters, Gladys Ball (John) of Florida, Faye Tyler (Stub) of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Two sons, Gerald Bowen and Robert J. Stephens, Jr, preceded Rose in death. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Burial will be in Welsh Settlement Cemetery.
