Wallace Hugh Empson, 72, of 429 Holdenbrook Road, Osceola, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.

Wally was born June 20, 1940 in Ulysses the son of Robert and Madeline Flynn Empson.
He retired after working 45 years for Dresser Rand, Painted Post, N.Y. Wally was a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge #746 and the Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by sons, Hugh Empson, Nelson; Ernie (Nancy) Empson, Elkland; Brad (Anna) Empson, Elkland; daughter, Teonna (Joe) Southard, Elkland; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Seeley, Monica Fenton, Stevie Empson, Adam Empson, Clarissa Empson, Bradley Empson, Ashleigh Southard, Josh Southard, Clay Roe, Tailor Roe; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Onalee Empson, Wanda (Clyde) Schrette, Wayne (Jackie) Empson, Claudia (James) Moon, Frank Empson, Rebecca (Lynn) McCaig; several nieces and nephews.
Wally was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Dartt.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Family and friends were invited to the Elkland Moose Lodge Sunday at 4 p.m. to celebrate Wally's life.
Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Community Ambulance Association.
