Lloyd C. Carpenter, 89, of Middlebury Center, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at The Green Home, Wellsboro.

Lloyd was born on Sept. 14, 1924, in Chatham Township, the son of the late Raymond Elmer and Josie Pearl (Cloos) Carpenter.
He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II. After his service in the Navy, Lloyd worked for various contractors in the area and retired in 1986.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise (Hayes) Carpenter, whom he married on Sept. 15, 1945; three daughters, Linda (John) Gee of Middlebury; Sandra (Mark) Moffett of Middlebury; Debbie (John) Kearse of Gaines; one son-in-law, Robert Brocious of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Susan Brocious.
Friends and family are invited to Lloyd's Life Celebration on Friday, Aug. 15, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral will follow at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Erik J. Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery of Crooked Creek in Holliday. Family will be providing the flowers, all other donations can be made to The Green Home, 37 Central Ave., Wellsboro, Pa. 16901.
