Shirley W. Smith, 90, of Galeton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Born Mar. 7, 1922 in Galeton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ada (Hinman) Wilbur.
Shirley was a graduate of Galeton High School and had perfect attendance.
On Apr. 8, 1950, she married Winnbert K. Smith, who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2005.
Shirley worked at Smith of Galeton Gloves and was the co-owner of the Galeton Greenhouses and Smith's Chicken Farm. Shirley was also a dispatcher for the Goodyear Hose Company.
Surviving are three sons, Allen M. (Darla) Smith, Galeton; Thomas K. (SueAnn) Smith, Galeton; Richard D. (Kelly) Smith, Galeton; a daughter, Linda (Gary) Jones, Coudersport; two sisters, Nettie Lohr and Janice Stephanie, both of Wellsboro; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by a grandson, Tylor Davis, on Aug. 18, 2012.
Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Skeet Keaton officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Galeton.
