Ardell M. (Mengel) Weidenhammer, 75 of Laureldale died Friday night, March 15, 2013 in her residence.

She was the widow of Solon C. Weidenhammer who died Dec. 26, 1999. Ardell was born on Jan. 1, 1938, in Florida.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl (Adam) Mengel. Mrs. Weidenhammer is survived by four sons, Chuck A. Weidenhammer of Shoemakersville; Lloyd C. Weidenhammer of Deer Lake, Schuylkill County, Nathan A. Weidenhammer of Laureldale, Keith Painter of East Greenville; four daughters, Karen (Painter) Bennetch of Newmanstown, Bonnie (Weidenhammer) Ashley of Wernersville, Mamie (Weidenhammer) Hoch of Fleetwood, Rebecca (Weidenhammer) Donton of Pine Grove, Schuylkill County; and also, a step-daughter, Debbie Michalowski. Ardell had 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She loved her "four-legged" grandchild, "Bandit." Mrs. Weidenhammer had a sister, Edith Schafer, of Breinigsville; two brothers, Milton Mengel of Lyons and Richard Mengel of Breinigsville. Ardell was predeceased by McKenzie and Kalli Weidenhammer.
Mrs. Weidenhammer retired in 1992 with 15 years service last working as a machine operator for Deka Battery. She later moved to Wellsboro and was employed part time as a deli clerk for Bilo's for 11 years, last working in 2011.
Funeral services from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple will be on Wednesday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Jeffrey A. Raffauf officiating. Interment will be in St. John's (Gernants) Cemetery, Ontelaunee
