Mrs. Theresa S. Koomar, 86, of Lehighton, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 26, 2016, while a resident of Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of James Koomar, who died in 1996.
She worked for Amcor Electronics, West Chester, for many years, while living in Audubon with James. Upon his passing, she retired back to Nesquehoning.
Born in the Village of Hauto, Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Trusa) Stianchi.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, and a past president of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.
She was a 1947 graduate of the former Nesquehoning High School.
Theresa was a good cook. She enjoyed attending family activities of all kinds, and liked to knit items as gifts for her relatives.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Stianchi of the Village of Hauto; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by four brothers, Victor, John, Anthony and George.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W. Center St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. James Burdess officiating.
