Josephine Shober, 92, of Krochs Road, Allentown, formerly of Lansford, died Monday in Allentown. She was the wife of John Shober.
Prior to retiring, she had been employed as the PPL Consumer Affairs Director in Hazleton. She began her career at PPL as a Home Economist, after working for the Prudential Insurance Company, as an agent, during World War II.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Dr. John J. and Josephine (Tracy) Quinn.
A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill, she had been a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lansford, until its closing.
A graduate of the former St. Ann's School, she earned a bachelor of arts degree from Immaculata College.
Founder and past president of the Lansford Business and Professional Women, she was also a past president of the Immaculata College Historical Society and a member of the Catholic Women of St. Ann's.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a brother, Atty. William B. Quinn of Jim Thorpe; and a sister, Celestine Trainer in Maryland.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Dr. John J. Quinn, Society of Jesus, and Thomas Quinn.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., Saturday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill, with the Revs. James Burdess and Stephen Halabura officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Bloomingdale. Call 9-11 a.m., Saturday, in the church. Arrangements by the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
