Edwin F. Walters Sr. Edwin F. Walters Sr., 84, of Palmerton, passed away on Thursday, March 19, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was employed by Dorney Park, Allentown, as a ride mechanic and paint foreman for 40 years until retiring in 1993. Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Roy H. and Dorothea I. (Handwerk) Walters. Surviving are a son, Edwin F. Jr., and his wife, Joan (Schwenk), of Slatington; a daughter Lillian, wife of Randy Bird of Walnutport; a sister Eileen, wife of James George of Slatington; four grandchildren, Heather (Walters), wife of Matthew Kresge, Steven Walters, and his wife, Kelly Clarke, Amanda (Bird), wife of David Bougher Jr., and Roxanne (Bird), wife of Frank Neri; three great-grandchildren, Mason Kresge, Genevieve Bougher and Jack Bougher; two nieces, Debra (George) Gruber and Karen (George), wife of Jeff Bachman; a nephew, James George Jr., and his wife, Laura (Parks); and his companion, Dawn Toth of Walnutport.Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, Kevin E. Wentz, Shirley J. - Lehighton  
Mrs. Shirley J. Wentz Mrs. Shirley J. Wentz, 80, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Friday, March 20, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the wife of James H. Wentz. They were married for 60 years on Aug. 28, 2014. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Geraldine G. (Clay) Hill.A loving wife and mother, she supported her family's endeavors and worked as a secretary for the Lehighton Cemetery for many years. She was a very active member of Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton, where she sang on the Chancel Choir and volunteered with the Kitchen Crew. Surviving are a daughter, Sherryl Armbruster of Lehighton; three sons, Garry, Gregory, Scott, and his wife, Patricia, of Parryville; a brother, Robert "Buzz," and his wife, Carolyn, of Lehighton; six grandchildren, Matthew Wentz, Jarrod Neff, Kyle Wentz, Dustin Wentz, Ren Wentz and Lauren Armbruster; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Madilyn Wentz. Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, Zion UCC, Lehighton, with the Rev. William A. Ellsworth officiating. Wetzel, Karan C. - Lehighton  
Karan C. Wetzel Karan C. Wetzel, 72, of Lehighton, passed away on Sunday morning, March 22, in the Summit Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. Prior to retiring, she was a certified nurse's assistant at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She previously worked in production at the former Keystone Lamp Factory, Slatington. She was a daughter of the late Lucas and Mary (Frey) Wetzel. She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, where she served as an elder and with the Altar Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Surviving are a brother, Earl T., and his wife, Patricia, of East Penn Township; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Janice J. Yale; a brother, Norman K. Sr.; an infant sister Shirley; and an infant brother Richard. Service: Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Wilkinson, Bruce D. - Lehighton  
Bruce D. Wilkinson Bruce D. Wilkinson, 59, of East Penn Township, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, in the St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Susan A. (Schleicher) Wilkinson. They were married for 35 years on Feb. 23. He was most recently employed as a carpenter for Penn Builders. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of Gloria M. (Mackes) Wilkinson of Bowmanstown and the late Harry C. Wilkinson. He was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield. An avid hunter and sportsman, he enjoyed hunting in the local area and was a member of the East Penn Sporting Club and the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed motorcycling. Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Rachael E., wife of Shaun Goodhile; a son, Derek B., and his wife, Brittney; and a sister Patricia, all of Lehighton; two brothers, Brian and Brad, both of Bowmanstown; and a grandson, Zachary Goodhile. Service: Celebration of Life service 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Wisocky, Catherine - Palmerton  
Mrs. Catherine Wisocky Mrs. Catherine Wisocky, 85, of Palmerton, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 22, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of Joseph Wisocky. She was a seamstress for the former Fernbrook, Palmerton, for many years before retiring. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Wasyl "Charles" and Mary (Drigulith) Boruta. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Her caring ways and giving heart were always inspiring. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to their school activities and sporting events. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Surviving are a son, Thomas W. Boruta, and his wife, Donna M., of Palmerton; two daughters, Jayne M., wife of Gary Stahler of Palmerton, and Susan Myers, and her fiancé, Gregory Stoudt, of Lehighton; and six grandchildren, David, Melissa, Morgan, Garrett, Matthew and Mason. Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Interment, parish's new cemetery, Palmerton.
