Beatrice P. Borascius

Mrs. Beatrice P. Borascius, 85, of Hazle Street, Tamaqua, died Sunday, April 7, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. She was the widow of Alfred J. Borascius, who died June 10, 2012.
She assisted her late husband in operating the former Borascius's Bar, Tamaqua, for many years, and also had worked at the former Atlas Powder Co., Reynolds, and Emes Bakery, in Tamaqua.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Lauchnor) Nunemacher.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda, wife of Henry Malinowski in Virginia, and Mary, wife of Dr. David Pierce of Saylorsburg; a son Al, and his wife, Barb, of Coopersburg; five sisters, Dorothy Poorman of Livermoore, Calif., Betty Bablo of Tamaqua, Lois Reed in Mississippi, Marion Fritz of Summit Hill and Joyce of New Ringgold; four brothers, Charles of Coaldale, Kenneth of Tamaqua, Edward of Lansford and Robert of Andreas; six grandchildren, Richard, Kendra, Megan, Garrick, Michael and Lindsey; and a great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Paul and Raymond.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, with the Rev. William Linkchorst officiating.
