Charles R. Kellner, 75, of Washington Street, Tamaqua, died Friday, Dec. 28, in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Helene "Tink" (Harvig) Kellner, who died in 2011.
Prior to retiring, he was co-owner of Tink's Antiques on Pine Street in Tamaqua. Previously, he owned the former Rubin's Grocery Store on Pine Street in Tamaqua and had been employed at the former Genetti's Supermarket, Tamaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of Pearl B. (Sherry) Kellner of Tamaqua and the late Charles J. Kellner.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.
A 1955 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he was a former member of the Tamaqua Water and Sewer Authority, the Tamaqua Historical Society and the Middle Ward Playground Association. He served as the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce Santa for 15 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Debra Kellner of Charleston, S.C., and her partner, Jill Frey, and Jody Kellner, wife of William Vacula of Tamaqua; a grandson, Joshua Vacula; and a sister Donna, wife of Gary Chickirda of Tamaqua. Service:
Memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Phyllis Wolford officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
