Claude C. Kuntz Jr.

Claude C. Kuntz Jr., 88, of Walnutport, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the husband of the late Mildred (Yushko) Kuntz, who died in 2009.
He was employed by Mack Trucks, Inc., as a machinist until retiring in 1985.Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Claude C. Sr. and Sarah (LeVan) Kuntz.
He served in the Navy from 1944-46 aboard the USS Borie (DD-704), which was kamikazed by the Japanese during his service on board.
Kuntz was a member of Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and the Diamond Fire Company, Walnutport.
Surviving are four sons, Chris, and his wife, Jane, of Slatington, Keith of Bethlehem, Kevin, and his companion, Denise Miller, of Walnutport, and Randy, and his wife, Alanya, of Lehighton; a daughter Pamela, and her fiance, Mitchell Manning, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a stepson, Thomas Breslin of Palmerton; two stepdaughters, Marianne, wife of William Kellner of Lansford, and Alice Scott of Slatington; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son Gregory, who died in 1999; and by various brothers and sisters.
Service: Memorial service 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home, 4214 Main St., Slatedale, with the Rev. David Walter officiating. Interment at convenience of family. No calling hours.
