Dean L. Borger, 55, of Kunkletown, died Sunday, Dec. 2, in his home in the presence of his family. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Mackes) Borger. They observed their 24th wedding anniversary in March.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of Shirley R. (Serfass) Borger, and her husband, Albert Borger, of Kunkletown, and the late Leo K. Borger.
Dean always said that Leo was his father, but Albert was his Dad.
A 1975 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School, Dean owned and operated D.L. Borger Construction, Kunkletown, for over 30 years.
He was a member of Effort United Methodist Church and a former member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ, Kunkletown.
He was also a member of the Western Pocono Jaycees and the founding president of the Western Pocono Jaycees Memorial Park.
Surviving in addition to his widow and parents are two sons, Dylon L. and Dickson L. Borger, and a daughter, Mackenzie J., all at home; a sister Deb, wife of Kevin Kemmerer of Albrightsville; a brother Chris of Kunkletown; and his dog, Duke LeRoy. Service:
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, Effort United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Interment, St. Matthew Cemetery, Kunkletown.
