Edward J. Plesniarski, lovingly known as "Fast Eddie From Detroit" died at his residence on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the age of 83.
He was born in Summit Hill, the son of Thomas and Anna Plesniarski.
Eddie served in the U.S. Army during WWII
and afterward he earned an Associate's Degree in automatic design at Penn State University
He came to Detroit and worked for G.M. Fisher Body, Warren Tech Center, as an automotive designer.
He retired from Fisher Body in 1987 after 28 years of service.
Ed was a sports car enthusiast and enjoyed many other hobbies, such as ice racing, para sailing, ski jumping, music and photography.
"Eddie did everything to the Nth degree and with perfection" stated his friend, Jerry.
He is survived by his brother, Dan (Lottie) and his sister, Sally Kimmerle and his extended family, Jerry, Sherri Patrick (Gina) and Staci Kenny and several nieces and nephews. Services:
Funeral services, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe followed by 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 180 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe with the the Rev. James J. Ward officiating. Call 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Jim Thorpe.
