Mrs. Ethel R. Weiss, 90, of Effort, died Sunday, March 3, in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown. She was the widow of John J. Weiss.
She had worked as a secretary in the Pleasant Valley School District for over 25 years before retiring in 1983.
Born in Snydersville, she was a daughter of the late Fred R. and Etta (Schick) Rinker.
She was a 1940 graduate of the former Chestnuthill High School and later graduated from Churchman's Business College.
She was a member of the Effort United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, James A., and his wife, Linda, of Effort, and Robert J., and his wife, Elinor, of Concord, N.C.; three grandchildren, Eric, Julie and Chad Weiss; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Christian Weiss. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Kenneth and John; and two sisters, Ora Marguerite Gray and Doris. Service:
Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, Effort United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Effort.
