Mrs. Evelyn C. Roth, 80, formerly of Lehighton, passed away Saturday, March 8, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township.
She was the wife of Robert H. Roth. They were married for 56 years in June 2013.
Prior to retiring, she was a clerk at the candy counter of the former Murphy's 5 and 10 Cent Store, Lehighton, for over 30 years.Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Enos and Carrie (Stein) Stauffer.
She was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Palmerton.
In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family and doing crafts.
Surviving are four daughters, Merella, wife of Gene Kershner of Weissport, Gerry of Jim Thorpe, Robin of Louisville, Ky., and Jill, wife of Jonathan Edelson in Maryland; a son Jon, and his wife, Natalie, of Palmerton; a sister, Mary Lapp of Lehighton; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Mildred Ahner.
Service: Celebration of Life service 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Palmerton (Bowmanstown), with the Rev. Dick Wilcock officiating. Private interment at convenience of family. Call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, and 10-11 a..m. Wednesday in the church.
