Gail M. Fritz

Mrs. Gail M. Fritz, 70, formerly of Tamaqua, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, after a lengthy illness in Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was the widow of William Fritz Sr., who died in 2004.
She grew up in Tamaqua, a daughter of the late Harry "Happy" and Lillian (Quick) Everhart.
She was a 1960 graduate of Tamaqua High School.
Currently, she was residing with her daughter, Susan, in Aldenville, and was employed for the past six years as an LPN at Ellen Memorial, Honesdale. Prior to that, she worked many years at the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. She was a member of Bethany E.C. Church, Tamaqua. where she taught Sunday school, and the Aldenville Baptist Church, Aldenville.
Gail is remembered as a devoted Christian and nurse who loved caring for people, spending time with Nicole and Emily, and crocheting blankets for others.
An avid reader, her book collection will be donated to the Aldenville Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, William Jr., and his wife, Traci, and Brian, both of Tamaqua; a daughter Susan, wife of Dale Roberts of Aldenville; four grandchildren, Ty Bowers, Dale Roberts Jr., Nicole Roberts and Emily Roberts; a brother Harry of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a sister, Judith Scarborough of Wilmington, Del.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown, with the Rev. Gary Gilpin officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 9-11 a.m. Saturday.
