Harley A. Henning, 65, of Walnutport, formerly of Lehighton, passed away on Thursday, April 25, in his home.
A member of the International Laborers, Local 1174, he was a construction laborer in the Lehigh and Northampton counties for many years until retiring in 2010.
- Previously, he was a presser for the former Scotty's Fashions, Lehighton, for 25 years.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Aquila and Edith (Strohl) Henning.He attended Lehighton Area High School.
Henning was a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was an outdoorsman in that he appreciated the beauty of nature. Harley will always be remembered as the "Master Builder."
Surviving are a son Harley, and his wife, Kathy, of Allentown; two daughters, Hollie Stahl of Upper Black Eddy and Heather of Slatington; eight grandchildren, Meghan Henning, Kyle and Matthew Allamong, Chasity and Bradley Carty and Jamie, Justine and Jennifer Rehrig; three great-grandchildren, Brianne and Chloe Allamong and Zachary Rissmiller; five brothers, Robert, James, and his wife, Linda, Kenneth, and his wife, Kathleen, and Timothy, and his wife, Martha, all of Lehighton, and Philbert of Kunkletown; two sisters, Edith, wife of James Berger of Jim Thorpe, and Judith, wife of Joseph Fiorentino of Lehighton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Smith; and a sister, Ruth Ann Hoffman. Service:
