Jerome W. "Jerry" Zubey, 59, of Valley Road, Tamaqua (Lewistown Valley), passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 6, in his home.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of Leonard J. Zubey of the Lewistown Valley and June L. (Breiner) Zubey of Schuylkill Haven.
He was a dairy nutritionist and owner of Zubey Dairy Consulting. He also served as the Tamaqua Middle School track coach.
He was a 1971 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, where he was an accomplished athlete.
He was a graduate of the Penn State University School of Agricultural Science, where he earned a B.S. in Animal Science.Jerry was a member of East End Fire Co., Tamaqua, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sons, George E. of Tamaqua and
Lt. Alex M. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Leonard M., and his wife, Andrea, of Middleton, Pa., and Thomas J., and his wife, Patricia, of New Tripoli; two nieces, Lauren and Jesse; and four nephews, Nicholas, Matt, Mike and Tim.
Service: Private funeral service and interment at convenience of family. Call 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 10, E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
