John Trudich Jr.
John Trudich Jr., 81, of Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, died Saturday in Allentown.
A member of Tamaqua Borough Council, he operated Trudich's Garage in Owl Creek and was a retired employe of Bethlehem Steel, where he had been a supervisor in the furnace room.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late John Sr., and Anna (Duda) Trudich.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.
Trudich was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where he has served as the cemetery sexton since 1973.
A 1951 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he was also a member of the Tamaqua Public Library Board of Directors.
Surviving are his companion of 20 years, Sandy Moerder; his former wife of 30 years, Elaine Faye (Kastelas) Trudich; a daughter, Shirley Ann French; two brothers, Peter and Michael Trudich, both of Owl Creek; three sisters, Eleanor Hodge of Hometown, Elizabeth Peper of Owl Creek, and Rose, wife of Al Beiswenger, of Harrisburg; nieces and nephews.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Thursday, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pine St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. William Linkchorst officiating. Interment, parish cemetery.
