Josephine A. Rhyder

Josephine A. Rhyder, 73, of East Second Street, Lehighton, Franklin Township, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Memorial Campus, Lehighton.
She was a machine operator for the former Scotty's Fashions, Lehighton, before retiring in 2001.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Gordon S. and Gladys A. (Reehl) Rhyder.
She was a life member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, where she had taught Sunday school and volunteered in many of the church's activities.The deceased was a 1957 graduate of Lehighton High School and also graduated from the McCann School of Business, Mahanoy City.
She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. and the Jim Thorpe Prison Association.
Surviving are three sisters, Nancy C., with whom she resided, Elizabeth L., wife of Junior Green of Palmerton, and Laura D., wife of Warren Serfoss of Beltzville; a brother, Albert A., with whom she resided; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Allen H., who died last month.
Service: Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton, with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Interment, Union Hill Cemetery, Franklin Twp. Call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the memorial fund of the church, Third and Iron streets, Lehighton, Pa. 18235.
