Kenneth E. Solt, 85, of Lehighton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 30, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, surrounded by his family.
- He was the husband of Dolores M. Solt, who passed away in September, 2012.
He was a truck driver for the former IDC, Mahoning Township, for 32 years, and a bus driver for the Lehighton Area School District from 1987-2007.Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Clayton and Harriet (Dreisbach) Solt.
A 1944 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, he was a corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Jim Thorpe.
The deceased enjoyed driving bus to high school sporting events. He also enjoyed his grass cutting jobs, in which he took great pride. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are two daughters, Natalie, wife of Vincent Rodgers of Jim Thorpe, and Pamela, wife of Willis Hough Jr. of Lehighton; three grandchildren, Noah and Connor Rodgers and Karissa Hough; and his dog Lucky. Service:
Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport, with the Rev. Wayne Benack officiating. Interment, Franklin Heights Cemetery, Franklin Twp.
