Lawrence J. Farrell

Lawrence J. "Larry" Farrell, 69, of South Street, Jim Thorpe, died Monday, Dec. 31, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Kathleen L. (Kelowitz) Farrell.
Over the years, he was a union cement mason. He had worked for Farrell Pools and Farrell Lawn Décor, both of Jim Thorpe, GTS Trucking of Bath and J & R Slaw, Inc., Bowmanstown, up until 2008.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late John F. and Isabel (Conarty) Farrell.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three daughters, Lisa, wife of Terry Teal of Poestenkill, N.Y., Lori of Watervliet, N.Y., and Jen, and her fiancé, Ryan Baker, of Jim Thorpe; two sons, Jay of Averill Park, N.Y., and Lance, and his wife, Bridgett, of Poestenkill; two sisters, Kathleen, wife of Rich Herman of Lansdale, and Patricia Devitt of Nesquehoning; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Farrell of Jim Thorpe; seven grandchildren, a great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by three brothers, Jack, who is survived by his wife Dorothy Farrell, Jerry, and Jim, who is survived by his wife Mary Farrell; and a sister, Rose Kattner.
Service: All services will be private. The Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, is in charge of the arrangements. Contributions may be sent to the family, 526 South St., Jim Thorpe, Pa. 18229.
