Madelyn E. Borosh, 88, of South Avenue, Jim Thorpe died Friday March 29, 2013, at her home. She was widow of James Borosh who died Feb. 11, 1985.
Born in Snyders, Schuylkill County she was a daughter of the late Alvin E. and Maude (Burkey) Hill.
She had originally worked at Barson and Bishop in Weissport and also as an operator for Bell Telephone before becoming a full time housewife.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in the Heights, Jim Thorpe.
She was a member of the Sportsman's Club, Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion Post 304 and a social member of the Diligent Fire Co. No. 3, all of Jim Thorpe.
She is survived by two children; Patricia, wife of James Billig and C. James Borosh and wife, Anne all of Jim Thorpe; grandchildren, Denise, wife of Jason Hoppes of Fawn Grove, Pa.; Doreen, wife of Jack Herman; Michael Borosh and Brian Borosh, all of Jim Thorpe; great-grand-children, Ian and Jolie Hoppes. She was predeceased by brothers; Harvey Hill, Leroy Hill, Clair Hill and sisters, Elsie Geiger, Doris Bechtold, Marion Corea and Jenny Shirey.
Services: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe with the Rev. F. Peter Muhr officiating. Call 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Slovak Protestant Cemetery in Nesquehoning.
