Mrs. Margaret M. Kozuch, 94, of Summit Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 18, in Sacred Heart Senior Living, Northampton. She was the widow of Stanley "Jake" Kozuch.
- She retired in 1997 from the Pa. Department of Labor and Industry.
Born in Summit Hill, she was daughter of the late Patrick and Isabel (McHugh) McDermott.She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, where she previously served on the church council.
She was the recipient of several awards, including the 1992 Shamrock Award from the Panther Valley Irish American Association.
She held offices in many community organizations, including the Carbon County Democratic Committee and the Jeffersonian Democratic Club, Summit Hill. She served on the Summit Hill Borough Council and, until recently, was a longtime member of the Carbon County Parks & Recreation Commission.
Survivors are two sons, Bernard, and his wife, Sheila, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Stanley, and his wife, Glenna, of Summit Hill; a daughter, Belle Ann, wife of John Rodrigues of Northampton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by four brothers, Bernard, John, Thomas and James. Service:
