Marie B. Bollinger, 88, of Lower Towamensing Township, died Monday, Nov. 12, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Lloyd A. Bollinger Sr. for the last 70 years.
She was a cashier in the Palmerton High School cafeteria for many years, and was also the bookkeeper for the former Bollinger Brothers Construction.
Born in Aquashicola, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Updegrave) Schaffer.
She was a longtime member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville.
She bowled with the former "Zincettes" club and the Tuesday Night Bowling Group.
She was a member of the Carbon County Red Hat Society (Ruby Belles) and Order of the Eastern Star, former John W. Luther Chapter, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for 10 years, a member of the Friday Afternoon Senior Citizens Group and the Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Connie, wife of Donald Holland of Palmerton; a son, Lloyd Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of Lower Towamensing Township; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
