Mrs. Marion C. Young, 77, of 231 Carbon St., Lehighton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Russell L. Young Sr., who passed away in 2005.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a millworker for the former Scotty's Fashions, Barson's Mills and Tom's Sportswear, all of Lehighton.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel May (Greensweig) Doll.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she volunteered as a youth advisor, and the Gnaden Huetten Chapter, Order of The Eastern Star, both of Lehighton.
She loved cooking and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
In her younger years, she loved to go hunting.
Surviving are two daughters, Brooke M., wife of Paul J. Stuckley Jr. of Lehighton, and Christine, wife of William Lamon in Wisconsin, a son, Scott A., and his wife, Melinda, of Franklin Township; a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Fern Solt and Marsha B. Cupo; and a brother, Raymond P. "Bup." Service:
Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, with SALM Emma Weaver officiating. Interment, Gnaden Huetten cemetery, Lehighton. No calling hours.
