Mrs. Mary T. Misantone
Mrs. Mary T. Misantone, 96, of Lansford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday morning, Jan. 19, in the St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem.
She worked most of her life as a sewing machine operator for various factories in the area.Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Nichola and Sophia (Delauretis) Fortunato.
- She was the widow of Frank Misantone, who passed away May 11, 1978. They were married on Sept. 15, 1941.
She was a graduate of the former St. Ann High School, Lansford.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. She was also a member of the former St. Ann Catholic Church, Lansford, where she served on the council.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a sister, Regina "Jeanette" Sandella of Emmaus; two daughters, Frances, wife of William J. Hargett of Reston, Va., and Marie, wife of Terry Kamm of West Union, S.C.; two sons, Dr. Louis Misantone, and his wife, Dr. Lyn, of Teaticket, Mass., and James Misantone, and his wife, Peggy, of Dumfries, Va.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by twin sons, Frank Jr. and Nicky; a brother Joseph Fortunato; and seven sisters, Rosanna Fortunato, Ada Fortunato, Ida Totani, Elizabeth Fortunato-Angelozzi, Josephine Fortunato, Rose Fortunato and Carmelita Luke.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the Lansford Police Dept., 1 W. Ridge St., Lansford, Pa. 18232, or the Lehighton Ambulance, 516 Iron St., Lehighton, Pa. 18232. Arrangements by Shawn E.
