Mrs. Myrtle C. Smith
Mrs. Myrtle C. Smith, 87, of 931 Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, formerly of Lehighton, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the widow of Arthur Smith and a 20-year companion of the late William Zellner.
Prior to retiring, she was a millworker in the garment industry.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Clara Miller.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, and was a former member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club.
In her spare time, she loved doing plastic canvas.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanne, wife of Paul Hunsicker, and Kathleen, wife of LaMar Frohnheiser of Palmerton; a son Llewellyn of Lansford; two sisters, Mary, wife of Harold Nester of McKeansburg, and Ellen, wife of Ray Haas of Auburn; a brother Morris, and his wife, Eleanor, of Andreas; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two daughters, Stephanie Laughlin and Doris Wertman; four sisters, Hattie Kistler, Hazel Miller, Eldora Schwenk, and Mildred Brazenic; and four brothers, Leon, Herman, Daniel, and Marvin.
Service: Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 1, in the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating, followed by interment in the Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield. Contributions in her name may be made to the
