Paul I. Ahner
Paul I. Ahner, 68, of Vine Street, Franklin Township, Lehighton, died Sunday, Dec. 29, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.
He owned Ahner's Used Auto Parts and Repairs, Franklin Township, and retired from North 30 Equities, Queens, N.Y.Born in Pine Run, he was a son of Dorothy (Shook) Ahner of Lehighton and the late Curtis Ahner.
- He was the husband of Susan K. (High-land) Ahner. They would have been married 50 years on June 13, 2014.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, having served aboard the U.S.S. Newport News. He served the Navy from 1964-68.
Paul was a beloved son, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved fishing, gardening, spending time with his family and friends, and going to the beach.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are two daughters, Deborah Sue Ahner and Xandria Ahner, and her husband, David Liatila, both of Lehighton; a son, Wayne Scott Ahner, and his wife, Maria, of Lansford; three brothers, Curtis Ahner, and his wife, Ann, of Jim Thorpe, and James and Kenneth, and his wife, Linda, both of Lehighton; a stepbrother, Robert Ahner, and his wife, Sharlee, of Kunkletown; and two granddaughters, Rowan Liatila and Marlena Ahner.
He was also predeceased by a sister, Dale E. Ahner; and a stepsister Jean Ahner.
