Pauline M. Leiby
Pauline M. Leiby, 99, formerly of 628½ Coal St., Lehighton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, N.J. She was the widow of Elmer Ruch.
Born in Andreas, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Bertha (Steigerwalt) Hunsicker.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years at Baer Silk Mills, Lehighton, as a winder.
She was a member of Ben Salem United Church of Christ, East Penn Township.
In her spare time she loved to crochet, do needlepoint, and quilt.
She is survived by a son, Richard Warnkin, of Washington, N.J.; a stepson, Robert Hughes, last known address in Walnutport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a close friend and caregiver, Mrs. Cheryl Burket, of Washington, N.J.
She was predeceased by a son, Delbert Warnkin; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle May.
Service: Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at 10 a..m. at Ben Salem Cemetery, 1965 Church Hill Rd., Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael J. McGowan officiating. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Ben Salem UCC, P.O. Box 128, Andreas, Pa. 18211. The Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehighton, is in charge of arrangements.
