Robert C. Stein
Robert C. Stein, 68, of Ashfield, died Saturday, Nov. 30, in his home. He was the husband of Eleanor N. Bowman. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary last March.
He retired from the Pa. State Liquor Control Board in 2008 and previously had worked for East Penn Trucking and the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton.
He was an Army veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam.Stein was a member of the American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, and the Carbon County Veterans Association, and was a life member of the Vigilant Fire Co., Slatington.
- Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Charles and Esther (Serfass) Stein.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and NASCAR.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Robert S. in Colorado and Lance S. of Ashfield; a daughter Dawn, wife of William Brenner in Texas; two grandchildren, Nicole and Shawn; a brother, William A. of Slatington; a sister, Dawn Seach of Lehighton; and his faithful companion Dre.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas E.
