Rudolph Kupres

Rudolph "Rudy" Kupres, 88, of Lakeland, Fl., passed away on Aug. 15, 2013. He was the husband of Marion Steigerwalt since Oct. 5, 1949.
He was born July 30, 1925 in Andreas, Pa.
He moved to Venice, Fl. in 1959 and owned Rudy's Welding and Mower, Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He was a precision welder.
He and his wife enjoyed the summers at their home in the mountains at Franklin, NC.
Rudy was a Navy veteran of WWII and a charter member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, FL. He served on the Council and Building committee for many years and was involved in the planning of The Village on the Isle Retirement Complex.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Stephen, Peter, Joseph and John; sisters Barbara, Mary, Josephine and Ann. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Marion of Lakeland, FL; sister Catherine Phillips, Lehighton, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Services: Memorial service will be held at Reformation Lutheran Church, 460 Old Polk City Road, Lakeland, FL 33809 at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
