Mrs. Sharlene A. Walper
Mrs. Sharlene A. Walper, 62, of Riverview Drive, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, died Sunday morning, May 19, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the widow of Robert L. Walper III, who died in 2011.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of Edith (Berger) Smith of Palmerton and the late Paul R. Smith.She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Indianland, where she belonged to the Women's Group.
- She worked for Kmart, Walnutport, as manager of the shoe department for over 10 years.
She was a member of the Palmerton Red Hats, the Palmerton Senior Center and the Palmerton Historical Society, and had participated in the Relay for Life, Freedom Strollers, Palmerton.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and dancing.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, Robert L. IV, and his wife, Gwen, of Walnutport; a sister Karen, wife of Terry Kistler, and a brother Vernon, both of Palmerton; and nieces and nephews.
Service: Memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, with the Rev. Martin Nuscher officiating. Interment, Indianland Cemetery, Lehigh Twp.
