Stephen Hlasney
Stephen Hlasney, 96, of Flemington, N.J., formerly of Lansford, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, N.J. He was the husband of the late Anne (Kudlick) Hlasney, who passed away on Aug. 31, 2011.
Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Hornak) Hlasney.
He worked as an elevator mechanic.
Stephen served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen Hlasney, and his wife Shirley, of Pittstown, N.J., Paul Hlasney, and his wife Allyson, of Denton, Md., and John Hlasney, and his wife Regina, of Flemington, N.J.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Service: is on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. from the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill; followed by further services at 2 p.m. from St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford, with the Rev. Marjorie Keiter officiating. Military interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Calling hours are on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Online condolences may be signed at
