Warren E. Wehr
Warren E. Wehr, 84, of Lehighton, died Monday, April 28, in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of the late Evelyn R. (Fisher) Wehr, who died Nov. 12, 2008.
Born in Mahoning Township, he was a son of the late Edgar C. and Lucretta A. (Rex) Wehr.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in its rolling mill, having had 40 years of service. He previously worked for the former Snyder's Garage, New Mahoning, as an automobile mechanic, and was a part-time house painter.
He was a member of St. Peter Union Church, Mantzville, American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, and the Andreas Sporting Club, and was a life member of the Nis Hollow Hunting Club, where he was involved as a landowner, having conveyed hunting privileges to the club members.
In his spare time, he loved hunting and gardening.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith, wife of Willard Remmel, and Dawn, wife of Harry Eisenhower, both of Lehighton, and Marion Luce of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a brother, Thomas E., and a daughter-in-law, Carol Steigerwalt, both of Lehighton; eight grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a stepgreat-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a son, Phil Steigerwalt.
Service: Graveside Celebration of Life service 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, St. Peter Cemetery, 184 St. Peter's Rd., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Cheryl L. Moore officiating. Arrangements by Andrew P.
