Warren F. Wanamaker, 90, formerly of Slatington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in Blue Mountain Health System, Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. He was the husband of Dorothy Dottie M. (German) Wanamaker who passed away in July 2012.
Born Sept. 17, 1922, in Slatedale, he was a son of the late John D. and Annie E. (Williams) Wanamaker.
He graduated from the former Slatington High School in 1940. He then enlisted in the Army
and served his country in Europe during World War II
, where he received an honorable discharge.
Warren was employed by the former Western Electric Company, Allentown, for 28 years until retiring, where he plated parts in the plating room.
He was of the Christian faith.
Warren was a lifelong hunter, fisherman and held numerous memberships and involvement in sporting, rod and gun clubs and conservation.
Survivors: daughter, Ann L., wife of Robert F. Kulp of Lehighton; six grandsons; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathleen J. Wanamaker of Slatington; numerous nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his son, David F. in 1999, and by numerous brothers and sisters. Services:
11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home Inc., 4214 Main St., Slatedale. Call 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
