William L. Price, 82, of East Miner Street, Coaldale, died Thursday, Feb. 7, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Catherine (O'Gorman) Price. They were married for 56 years.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by General Battery, Reading.
Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Charles and Annabelle (Reichelderfer) Clay.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War
He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where he was active in fundraising activities. He was also a former volunteer custodian at the St. Patrick Chapel, Seek.
A 1949 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he was a member of the Father Henry Baker Council, Knights of Columbus; treasurer of the United Steel Workers Union, Reading Local; and an avid Notre Dame fan.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Jody, and his wife, Lisa, of Coaldale; three daughters, Catherine Barnhart of Coaldale, Sharon, wife of Stanley Jagielski of Reading, and Camielle, wife of John Mayernick of West Penn Township; six grandchildren, Catherine Adinolfe, Karen Worthington, Bradley Jagielski, Matthew and Ryan Price and Nicholas Mayernik; and three great-grandchildren, Natalie Worthington and Bridget and Abigail Adinolfe.
