We lost a great friend in Ray. He had the funniest stories and had a story about everything. He enjoyed living and made so many friends. He was always right there to lend a helping hand. He will truly be missed. He will leave a big gap in our Friday night get togethers, but in spirit he will always be with us! He also had alot of friends he called "buddy". We lost a great "buddy". Our deepest sympathy to the entire family as we also share your loss. Love, Bob and Gayle and family.

Ray will always have a very special place in the hearts of all of his old DD 823 shipmates. Good times remembered, a loss to all who knew him. The ship's bell tolls and memories slip silently into the sea. Rest your oars, Ray. Though we will miss you, I have a feeling you will always be with us.

Just A Memory Away

I'm no longer by your side,
but there's no need to weep.
I've left sweet recollections
I'm hoping you will keep.
Eternal joy and memories
stay in our hearts forever,
strengthening our special bond
that parting cannot sever.
Now its time to journey on-
so let your faith be strong.
For I am in a better place...
I'm home where I belong.
But if times of lonliness
bring sorrow and dismay
Don't despair for I am there...
Just A Memory Away.
