Mrs. Betty C. Kreitz, 91, of Lehighton, died Friday, March 21, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township.
She worked for the former Merluzzi Garment Factory, Lehighton and Bowmanstown, for many years.Born in Long Run, Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late Milton G. and Grace I. (Graver) Hoffman.
- She was the widow of Edward C. Kreitz, who died in 1980.
She was an avid fan of the New York Mets and enjoyed her many casino trips to Atlantic City.
Surviving are a daughter Carole, wife of Richard A. Semmel, and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Kreitz, both of Lehighton; three grandchildren, Richard Semmel, and his wife, Deborah, of Graham, N.C., Michael Semmel, and his wife, Kimberly, of Lehighton, and Kathleen, wife of Larry Williams of Tamaqua; five great-grandchildren, Candace Semmel King, and her husband, Wesley, of Cary, Amanda Semmel of San Francisco, Calif., Emily Semmel Tucker, and her husband, Eli, of Arlington, Va., and Daniel and Brittany Semmel of Lehighton; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a son, Thomas C. Kreitz; a brother, Luther Hoffman; and two sisters, Irene Kromer and Pauline Koch.
Service: Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, Schaeffer Funeral Home, Third and Alum streets, Lehighton, with the Rev. Christopher Deforest officiating. Interment, Lehighton Cemetery.
