Blaine Junior Klotz, 87, of 443 N. Second St., Lehighton, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. |
Prior retiring, he was employed at the former Packerton Shops for the Lehigh Valley Railroad, and later had worked for Conrail.Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Raymond and Beatrice (Campbell) Klotz.
- He was the husband of the late Norma G. (West) Klotz, who died Jan. 5, 2011.
He was a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching football, especially Lehighton Knee-High football and baseball. In his younger years, he pitched for the Fairyland Farms Cardinals and other baseball teams.
In his spare time, he played bingo with his friends.
Klotz was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton; a life member of Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 and the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, both of Lehighton; and a former member of the Moose Lodge and The Eagles, both of Lehighotn.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol, wife of Glenn "Jake" Buskirk of Whitehall, Sandra, wife of Alfred Weaver, and Debra Eisenhower; three sons, Larry, and his wife, Karen, Robert, and his wife, Mary, and Blaine Klotz, and his wife, Victoria, of Lehighton; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Frantz and Shirley Christman; and three brothers, Dean, Dale and Norwood.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, with the Rev. Robert A. von Frisch officiating. Interment, Lehighton Cemetery.
