Blase L. Marchetti, 69, of East Elm Street, Tamaqua, died Tuesday, March 26, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Carol (McDonald) Marchetti. They were married for 47 years.

He retired from Brick Layers Local No. 5 after 40 years of service.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Samuel D. Marchetti and the late Anna (Secone) Marchetti.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society.
Marchetti was a graduate of Marian High School and Stevens Trade School.
He served in the Army Reserves and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly and bass fishing and golfing.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Dr. Carolyn Marchetti, Ed. D, and her husband, Jay Rinehart, of Downingtown, Pa.; a son, Blase J. of Wilmington, N.C.; and two brothers, Thomas S. of Breinigsville and Alfred D., and his wife, Linda, of Brockton.
