Mrs. Carol D. Behler, 66, of Indian Hill Road, Franklin Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. She was the wife of Douglas M. Behler.
They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Nov. 4.
Born in Rickertsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Hattie M. (Smith) Leyer.She was a 1964 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.
She retired from the TIMES NEWS, Lehighton, after over 30 years of service.
She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Franklin Township.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Lori, wife of Lamont LeVan, and a son Ryan, and his wife, Pam, both of Franklin Township; three grandchildren, Kirsten LeVan and Matthew and Luke Behler; two nieces, Tammy, wife of Mike Ewer of Lehighton, and Denise Miller in California; three great-nieces, Saige Miller, Emily Miller and Camille Miller; and a great-nephew, Cedric Miller.
She was also predeceased by a brother Dennis.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Franklin Twp., with the Rev. Nancy Moore officiating. Interment will be private. Call 9-11 a.m. Monday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the church, 222 Church St., Lehighton, Pa. 18235. Arrangements by Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport.
