Cheryl A. Hoppes Obituary
Mrs. Cheryl A. Hoppes, 57, wife, mother and grandmother, of Mill Drive, Tamaqua, West Penn Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, in her home and in the care of her family.
She was the wife of Kevin D. Hoppes. They were married for 35 years.
She worked for the former General Computer, Tamaqua, and taught art at Immanuel Christian Academy, Hazleton. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Anna (Muller) Whisler.
She was a 1972 graduate of North Hemfield High School, Landisville, and attended Mansfield University.
She was an accomplished artist and musician. She painted oils and watercolors and was proficient at playing a number of instruments. She and her husband refurbished his family's stone home in West Penn Township. She was contractor and interior designer.
The deceased was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Hazle Township.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Michelle E. of Tamaqua; two sons, Matthew S., and his wife, Beth, of Trout Run, and Kyle M. of Tamaqua; and a grandchild, Maddison Hoppes.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, Grace Fellowship Church, Hazleton, with the Rev. Dr. Tedd Tripp and the Rev. Chad Bennett officiating. Interment, Christ Evangelical Free Church Cemetery, Lehighton. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Monday in the church. Arrangements by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 2066 W. Penn Pike, New Ringgold.
